Information
Iranian and Danish energy company Vestas has started a new round of cooperation in the wind energy sector.

The Iranian power industry and Denmark's Vestas have already begun to cooperate by helping to generate wind power, transfer wind farms and turbines, and integrate the wind power network.

Speaking at a seminar on "Wind Power and Distribution Network Management", Iñigo Sabater, Vice President of Vestas Mediterranean Wind Systems, said: "100% of Denmark's electricity needs are supplied by installed wind farms and turbines. He emphasized: "At present, wind power has become the main energy source in 34 countries around the world, but in Iran, the problem is still the immaturity of wind energy development and utilization. This also shows that in Iran, a Middle Eastern country, the development of wind power is a must. Great opportunity."

Sabater stressed that the electricity produced by wind farms is economically feasible under the current situation, declaring: "Therefore, we are actively looking for sites to develop wind energy in Iran."

Akbar Shabanikia, deputy director of the Iranian Renewable Energy Organization, said the organization is currently updating the 'encyclopedia' of wind energy in Iran, which is expected to take a year to complete. He added: "The 'Encyclopedia of Wind Energy' will be designed using satellite data and will provide sufficient information for investors who plan to invest in the Iranian wind energy sector."

Established in 1898 as a blacksmith shop in western Denmark, Vestas started producing wind turbines in 1979 and has since achieved a market-leading position with 74GW of installed wind capacity worldwide and more than 50GW of wind turbines in service.

Vestas has offices in 24 countries around the world and sales business units in 5 regions, located in North Europe, Central Europe, America, Mediterranean, Asia Pacific and China.
